Kerala Institute of Co-operative Management (KICMA) is a professional Management Institute set up by the State Co-operative Union on a self financing basis at Neyyardam, Trivandrum approved by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) and affiliated to University of Kerala.
Located at the picturesque dam site at Neyyardam, on the outskirts of Thiruvananthapuram city, KICMA offers a Two year full-time MBA Programme. Setup by the State Co-operative Union (SCU) which is a statutory body established by the State Government under the provision of Kerala Co-operative Societies Act of 1969.
SCU, apart from playing its key role as a regulatory authority of Co-operative Movement in the State, is an educational agency conducting Diploma and Post Graduate Diploma Courses in Co-operatiion right from its inception. The Union prescribes the course content and curriculum and conduct examinations. Co-operative training is disseminated through 12 Training Colleges, and 10 Co-operative Training Centres and Co-operative education is implemented through Co-operative education Instructors all over the State. The Co-operative Union plays an important role for strengthening and infusing professionalism in the Co-operative movement of Kerala. KICMA is the first attempt on the part of the Union to set up a Management Institute in the Co-operative sector.
Spread over a 12 acres plot donated by the Kerala State Government, KICMA is ideally located near Neyyardam, a well known tourist centre about 30 kms away from Trivandrum city in Kerala, South India. In a view to provide trained professionals in the field of management to the Government and the Private sector, KICMA was established with an objective to Impart Knowledge and Skill, Consultancy and Research in the field of Management and Co-operation. KICMA also aims at inculcating a sense of team spirit, encouraging creative thinking and innate intuition that lead to passion for excellence.
